Not many are aware of this, but there are actually many types of eczema, one of which is referred to as contact dermatitis. This type of eczema typically occurs due to constant exposure to certain allergens found in the atmosphere and in the surroundings. Skin inflammation, persistent itching, dryness of the skin are just some of the common symptoms of eczema. There are conventional treatments available over the counter that can provide you with soothing relief from that uncontrollable itch brought about by eczema; a corticosteroid cream is a good example. However, you need to understand that such medications will only provide you with temporary relief which is why such medications should never be considered as your ultimate cure.
However, the good news is that there are natural treatments for eczema that can successfully eliminate this dreaded skin disorder and at the same time, provide you with that calming and soothing relief. Here listed are two of them.
1.) Herbal Baths – The benefits of herbs are already known to many. When it comes to eczema, the use of herbs can help reduce the swelling, reddening and itching of your skin. Some great examples of herbs that you can use are lavender, oatmeal and chamomile. You can make use of these individually or you can also infuse all of them together for a more lasting effect. Simply mix any of these herbs with lukewarm water and bathe yourself with it. If you happen to have a bathtub at home, add some of these wonderful herbs in your bathing water and immerse yourself in it for about ten to twenty minutes for optimum results.
2.) Probiotic Yogurt – Yogurt contains live and healthy bacteria which is great for boosting your immune system and building your resistance against common diseases and illnesses. Again, this is a great treatment of contact dermatitis, so make it a point that you include probiotic yogurt in your everyday diet.
